Invasor’s Long Shadow

Daaher, while wearing the blue and white colors of Shadwell, did more than spoil the older horse championship hopes of Midnight Lute yesterday. He reminded us all, subconsciously, that his former stablemate Invasor has cast a long shadow on the voting for older champion. Even with one start stateside back in February in the Donn, Invasor is a legitimate contender for champion considering how both Lawyer Ron and now Midnight Lute proved they can’t string multiple grade ones together with the overpowering consistency that Invasor did. While most will say his win the the Dubai World Cup shouldn’t be factored into the voting for North American champion, it’s going to be very difficult for the voters to push it out of their minds.

I put up a little poll on the sidebar with video of Invasor and Lawyer Ron, who do you think should be named champion?

The Canadians Clean Up At Philly Park

Valerie over at Foolish Pleasure has the recap on the Pennsylvania Nursery Stakes which was won by Canadian invader Notgivinmyloveaway. Trained by Reade Baker who is making a habit of winning with his shippers, two starts and two wins. Baker also won the Cotillion earlier in the meet with Bear Now. Notgivinmyloveaway was much the best of this group, taking the lead at the top of the stretch and was never threatened while winning by five and running the last quarter in 24.03.

After the Remsen, count me in on the Court Vision bandwagon, who says the post Breeders Cup months are dull?
